My counseling career began as a Mental Health Counselor (NH and MA) and Marriage and Family Therapist (MA) working in the public sector. After a hiatus from counseling to teach, I provided therapy at an international school in Africa for three years, and now work in my community. I am licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in NH and have telehealth privileges in VT and FL.
Specific concerns that I work with in the context of individual counseling include depression, anxiety, faith-based struggles, healing past wounds and losses, whole-person maturity and ‘adulting,’ and grief work (including loss of a pet).
Faith-based counseling is available to those who want to integrate their Christian faith into their counseling. I also look to connect with individuals and families who identify with other spiritual and philosophical traditions and am particularly sensitive to those who have experienced spiritual abuse or felt marginalized by faith communities.
My methods are eclectic, drawing from IFS, family systems, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused; all work is grounded in reality and an awareness of trauma. Approaches are tailored to each client and situation.
Walking with people as they heal and grow is my privilege and passion.
